Neighborhood overview
Utako is an urban district located in Abuja Phase 2. The neighborhood sits directly to the north west of the city centre. It is very well developed.
While primarily a residential area there are some commercial elements. It is a green district with open spaces and parks dotted in its vicinity.
Sited minutes away form the Central Area, this neighborhood hosts many high-end restaurants and nightclubs, which makes it one of the more popular places in Abuja. You can also find several hotels scattered across the district.
The Utako neighborhood is a destination for others from around the capital who come to enjoy the districts many amenities.

Getting around
Utako nears Jabi to the west, Mabushi to the north, Wuye in the south and Wuse in the east.
It has an excellent road network linking to various parts of the city and the suburbs.
The main roads in the neighborhood include Shehu Yaradua Way, Obafemi Awolowo Way and Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway. You can get to the Central Area in approximately 10 minutes.

Utako is an area with a variety of home options including bungalows, duplexes, terraces and apartments. Large, more exclusive, Mansions are also a feature of this district.
Being a developed neighborhood Utako has good infrastructure and good public services. Its serene location near inner districts like Wuse makes it a sought after neighborhood for higher income earners.
Some of Abuja’s most beautiful homes can be found in the area. Accordingly the price of accommodation here is generally on the high side, although not as expensive as Asokoro for instance.
