Karsana is a developing Abuja district located to the north west of the city center. It is one of the few phase 4 districts undergoing significant development. Karsana is divided into 4 neighborhoods namely North, East, South and West. Much of this early development is centered on Karsana East.
As the population of Abuja has grown, the city has expanded outwards, towards areas like Karsana. Typically, most of this outward expansion has concentrated on the phase 3 region, with phase 4 areas seeing very little development. However, with the current focus on Karsana, things have changed.
A key reason for this focus on Karsana is its excellent site in the capital. The neighborhood enjoys a strategic position, very near two densely populated commercial districts i.e. Gwarinpa and Kubwa. Furthermore the districts perfect location adjacent to the Murtala Mohammed Expressway makes for easy movement all around Abuja.
